Bronx, N.Y. – (April 7, 2026) – Despite two home runs and five RBI from Fordham's
Joey Donnelly, the Rams fell to the Manhattan Jaspers by a score of 12-8 on Tuesday afternoon at Houlihan Park.
With the loss, Fordham is now 14-17 overall, while Manhattan moved to 11-18 on the year.
THE GAME
- Manhattan jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by Vincent Samuel, his fourth of the season.
- The Rams answered with a run in the bottom of the frame on an RBI single by Joey Donnelly, scoring Anthony Grabau.
- The Jaspers made it 6-1 in the third inning, but Fordham rallied with three runs in the bottom of the inning, netting runs on a ground ball by Tommy McAndrews and a two-run home run by Donnelly, his fifth of the season.
- After Manhattan got a run back in the fourth to make it 7-4, Fordham tied the game with a three-run outburst on an RBI single from McAndrews and another two-run home run by Donnelly.
- The score stayed tied at seven until Manhattan scored twice in the eighth for a 9-7 advantage.
- Fordham got back within one in the bottom of the eighth at 9-8 on a sacrifice fly by Matt Dieguez.
- The Jaspers then tacked on three insurance runs in the ninth for the 12-8 win.
GAME NOTES
- Donnelly had his best day as a Ram, going 4-for-6 with two home runs and five RBI.
- Madden Ocko and Dieguez each had two hits, while Taylor Kirk was 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
- McAndrews ended up 1-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.
- Robbie Stewart (5-2) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits over two innings of work.
- Andrew Kapica tossed four innings of relief, allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts.
