Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman Avery Aude was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week it was announced by the conference office yesterday. It is the first weekly award for Aude.
 
Aude went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles play on the week. The Woodland Hills, Calif., native, defeated NJIT's Shamika Dhar at fifth singles (0-6, 6-3, 6-1) in a 4-3 loss on Friday. She also defeated Drexel's Marta Martinez in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) in a 4-3 win on Saturday. She then teamed up with Genevieve Quenville to win at first doubles over NJIT's Joleta Budiman and Amira Badawi, 6-3 but fell to Drexel's Ghita Benhadi and Cristina Corte González at first doubles, 6-1.
 
The Rams travel in to Queens next Friday, March 13, to face Queens College at 12:00 p.m.
