Geneva, Ohio – (February 22, 2020) – The 2020 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship came to a close at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Saturday night.
The George Mason Patriots captured their first conference championship dethroning three-time defending champion George Washington. George Mason totaled 657 points, just ahead of George Washington's 637.5. St. Bonaventure was third with 498 points, followed by La Salle (438.5), Davidson (415), Massachusetts (345.5), Saint Louis (267), and Fordham (224.5).
On the final night, Fordham scored in every event, starting in the 1650 freestyle, where
Danny McGowan was 14
th in 16:01.41.

Next was the 200 backstroke, as
Connor Wright recorded a season-best time of 1:49.62, good for 15
th overall, while in the 100 freestyle,
Kevin Berry scored 12
th with a season-best time of 45.23 seconds.
The Rams then saw its second school record fall of the Championship in the 200 breaststroke event.
Patrick Wilson won the "B" final for ninth overall in a school record time of 2:00.77, breaking the previous mark of 2:01.02, set by
Travis Monahan in 2018.
Nathaniel Guenther also scored in the 200 breaststroke, placing 16
th in 2:04.40.
The Rams' individual scoring finished with
Greg Lombana winning the "B" final of the 200 butterfly in a season-best time of 1:48.74, while
Diego Perez netted a season-best score of 250.55 in the three-meter dive for 11
th place.
The final event of the Championship was the 400 freestyle relay, where Fordham's team of Berry, Spencer Clark, Wilson, and
Bryce Bollesen finished seventh in a season-best time of 3:02.82.
