New Orleans, La. - The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2019 Division I All-Academic Cross Country teams with a total of 428 men's and women's teams earning the distinction as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher. The Atlantic 10 Conference was once again well represented in the 2019 season with a total of 18 teams represented, which included Fordham's men's and women's teams.

Overall, there were 191 men's teams and 237 women's teams that received All-Academic honors in NCAA Division I. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.

From a conference perspective, 10 Atlantic 10 women's teams were honored, while eight Atlantic 10 men's teams honored. Fordham had the second-highest GPA among women's teams at 3.62, behind only VCU (3.65). The Fordham men earned the national accolade with a 3.31 team GPA.

Fordham was one of eight Atlantic 10 schools to have both its men's and women's team honored, joining fellow Atlantic 10 teams, Davidson, George Mason, La Salle, Massachusetts, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis, and VCU. The women's team from George Washington and Rhode Island were also honored.

Individually, Fordham's
Ryan Kutch received USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades for the third time overall, and first for cross country.   Combining accomplishments in the classroom and in competition during the recently completed season, Kutch was among a group of 117 men who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

A Business Administration with a concentration in Finance with a 3.44 GPA, Kutch earned All-Atlantic 10 honors by finishing second at the Atlantic 10 Championship in 25:06.6, as well as Atlantic 10 All-Academic accolades. He later went on to earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors by finishing fourth at the NCAA Northeast Regional and advancing to the NCAA Championship.
