Boston, Mass. – (January 24, 2020) – The John Thomas Terrier Classic got underway on Friday afternoon at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center in Massachusetts. On day one, the women took center stage with all but one event for the ladies and the Rams had some solid performances.
The women's 4x800 relay and
Kathryn Kelly highlighted the day, as each posted an ECAC qualifying time for Fordham. The 4x800 relay, comprised of
Sydney Snow,
Helen Connolly,
Jilli Jones, and
Taylor Mascetta, finished second to only Texas in an ECAC qualifying time of 9:19.83.
Sarrinagh Budris
Kelly had a pair of top ten finishes, taking second in the 200 meter dash in a season-best and ECAC qualifying time of 24.61 seconds, while taking seventh in the 60 meter dash invitational, clocking in at 7.79 seconds.
Fordham also had season-best marks in three other events on Friday.
Sarinnagh Budris was 15
th overall in the 500 meter run in a season-best time of 1:16.93, while returning in the 4x400 relay with
Dominique Valentine,
Mary Kathryn Underwood, and
Kyla Hill to place 18
th in a season-best time of 3:57.48. The last season-best mark came in the triple jump, as
Jade Dyer-Kennedy was 18
th with a mark of 36' 2".
The Rams also competed in five other women's event on day one.
Radha Dooley had Fordham's top marks in the 60-meter hurdles (10.34) and the high jump (5' 1"), with
Sydney Snow running 2:57.87 in the 1,000 meters, good for 44
th overall.
Ruby Avila was 28
th in the 60-meter dash in 8.37 seconds, while
Alexandra Thomas took 59
th in the mile run in 5:13.10.
In addition to the women's events, the men had one event on day one in the distance medley relay. The Rams had an excellent showing as Christopher Strzelinski, Antony Misko, Erik Brown, and Brandon Hall placed sixth in an IC4A qualifying time of 10:06.00.
