Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham men's and women's cross country teams continued their season today as they competed at the Brother John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday morning. The Fordham men placed fifth of 18 teams while the women were seventh of 16 teams.

Iona, the host school, won the men's team title with 38 points, followed by Charlotte (66), Temple (72), Columbia (125) and Fordham, who was just three points behind Columbia with 128 points.

On the women's side, Columbia took the team title with 45 points followed by Cornell (87), La Salle (98), Johns Hopkins (102), Temple (117), Charlotte (145) and Fordham (225).

Senior
Ryan Kutch, the defending Atlantic 10 and Met champion, saw his first action of the year for Fordham, placing eleventh overall on the 8K course in a time of 25:12.0, 45 seconds behind the winner, Johnjack Miller of Iona.

Sophomore
Brandon Hall was the second Ram s across the line with a time of 25:32.3, good for 17th overall, while senior
Nicholas Raefski placed 26th in 25:53.7.

Other scorers for Fordham were freshmen
John McGovern (33rd - 26:01.0) and
Colin Flood (41st – 26:12.5) while senior
Sean Sullivan (58th – 27:07.0) and freshmen
Jack Craven (27:15.2) and
Nick Lundberg (79th – 27:25.2) also competed for the Rams.

Freshman
Alexandra Thomas was the first Fordham woman across the line, covering the 5K course in 18:32.6, good of 16th overall. Senior
Sydney Snow was next, placing 42nd in 19:11.2 with freshman
Taylor Mascetta right behind her in 49th place in 19:29.9.

Also scoring for the women was sophomore
Bridget Alex (52nd – 19:35.3) and freshman
Sarah Raubenheimer (66th – 20:11.1) while juniors
Dana Beggins (72nd – 20:33.4) and
Maeve O'Connor (85th – 21:49.5) also competed for the Rams.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 5, as they compete at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
