Old Westbury, N.Y. – The Fordham men's and women's cross country squads competed at the NYIT Invitational on Saturday with the men placing second and the women fourth in the team competition.

Seton Hall won the men's team title with 42 points, followed closely by Fordham with 51 points. St. Thomas Aquinas was third (99), with USMMA (109) and NYIT (147) rounding out the top five.

On the women's side, Seton Hall also won the team competition with 21 points, followed by St. Thomas Aquinas (75), USMMA (85), Fordham (98) and NYIT (170).

Junior
Will Whelan was the top Fordham men's finisher in the 8K race, placing seventh in a time of 23:34.26. He was followed closely by three teammates, freshman
Ryan Fahey (23:52.48), junior
Patrick Norako (23:52.78), and junior
Dylan Serino (23:56.72) who placed eighth, ninth and tenth, respectively.
Also scoring for the Rams was sophomore
Patrick Tuohy, who finished 17th overall in 24:17.75.

Sophomore
Bridget Alex was the first Fordham woman to cross the line, covering the 5K course in a time of 20:09.85. Junior
Bridget White was the second Fordham finisher, placing 19th in 21:29.06 with sophomore
Angelica Piccini and sophomore Jilli Jones finishing 27th and 28th in 22:03.60 and 22:06.97, respectively.

Also scoring for the women was junior
Julia Herms, who was 30th overall in 22:18.65.

The Rams return to action on Friday, September 20, as they compete in the Paddy Doyle Invitational in Van Cortlandt Park at 10:00 a.m.
