Bronx, N.Y. – (May 17, 2019) - The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by
CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The 10-member Men's At-Large District I First Team featured Fordham swimming & diving junior
Christopher Sleutjes (Sherman Oaks, Calif.).
The At-Large team was comprised of student-athletes from a variety of sports including men's ice hockey, men's swimming, men's fencing, men's lacrosse, men's tennis, men's golf, men's rifle, men's gymnastics, men's volleyball, and men's wrestling. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
Sleutjes holds a 4.00 GPA, majoring in Finance. A three-year member of the Fordham swimming & diving team, he was named to the 2019 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference, after a strong campaign as Fordham's top distance swimmer. He scored in three of the four events he took part in at the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship, placing 13
th in both the 500 and 1650 freestyle events, while taking eighth as a part of the 800 freestyle relay team.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.
