Florence, Ala. - (May 13, 2019) - The 2019 Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District® Baseball Teams have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.  Among the District 1 honorees is Fordham junior outfielder Billy Godrick (Millersville, Md./Archbishop Spalding).  He is the first baseball player to receive Academic All-District honors since Matthew Kozuch in 2017.
 
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.
 
A 2018 Academic All-Atlantic 10 selection, Godrick holds a 3.91 GPA in Public Accounting and is a two-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and a member of the Dean's List.  This season, Godrick has appeared in 48 games, making 36 starts in centerfield.  He has 17 runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, and 11 RBI to go with nine stolen bases on the year.  Over the last seven games, he has been a big contributor for the Rams, hitting .273 with six runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, and six RBI, as Fordham is 6-1 in those games.
 
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
