Finn Kemper was named the Atlantic 10 men's tennis co-player of the week it was announced by the league office today. He shares the award, his first weekly honor of the season, with Edward Ayers of George Mason.
On Saturday, Kemper clinched the match for the Rams in a 4-3 win at Saint Joseph's, taking down Johnnie Massart at third singles, winning the first match 6-2, before dropping the second, 6-4. Kemper rebounded to win the third set easily, 6-0.
On Sunday playing at second singles, Kemper dropped the first set to Facundo Couso, 7-6 (3), but came back to take the second, 6-3, and the tiebreaker, 10-8, as the Rams shutout the Terriers, 7-0.
Kemper was also 2-0 in doubles play on the week, teaming with
Max Green at second doubles to win 6-4 at Saint Joseph's and 7-5 versus St. Francis.
