Philadelphia, Pa. – (April 25, 2019) – The 125
th edition of the Penn Relays got underway in Thursday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. The Fordham women's track & field team competed in two events on day one, both with outstanding results.

First, in the heats of the 4x100 relay,
Mary Kate Kenny,
Kathryn Kelly,
Sarinnagh Budris and
Dominique Valentine posted a season-best and ECAC qualifying time of 47.99 seconds, which was just .10 seconds off a school record time. The time placed the Rams 32
nd overall, just missing the 4x100 finals.
Then came the highlight of the day, as the distance medley relay team of
Laurel Fisher, Budris,
Aidan Moroz, and
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski, won the college division event in a school record time of 11:34.28. Krzyzanowski outlasted Yale's final runner in the final few meters by 0.16 seconds to claim the title. The previous Fordham record was 11:58.63, set in 2009.
The Rams continue action at the Penn Relays on Friday, competing in the women's 4x200 relay and the sprint medley relay, while the men will take part in the 4x400, sprint medley, and distance medley relays.
