Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. – The Fordham women's tennis team ventured down to Philadelphia on Wednesday where they defeated Drexel University, 4-3, at the Hecht/Hamlin Center.
The match opened with the Dragons taking the doubles point, winning both completed doubles matches. But the Rams rebounded to win the match by taking four of the six singles matches.
Tatiana Grigoryan got things started in singles play, taking third singles from Katka Majorova in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-1, before
Gianna Insogna gave Fordham a 2-1 lead with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Anisiya Simpson at the fourth position.
Nicole Li pulled Fordham to within one point of victory with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Marta Martinez at fifth singles but
Maia Balce dropped second singles to Salma Ziouti, 6-4, 1-6, 2-6, before
Arina Taluyenko clichéd the match for Fordham with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory over Ghita Benhadi at first singles.
The Rams return to action on Friday, March 8, as they travel to Queens to face Queens College at 11:00 a.m.
