Newport News, Va. – (March 12, 2019) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly baseball awards on Tuesday, with Fordham pitcher John Stankiewicz (Cherry, Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) being named the conference's Pitcher of the Week. 
 
This is Stankiewicz's first career weekly honor and the first for the Rams this season.
 
Stankiewicz earned the weekly honor following his performance on Saturday against Iona in a 5-1 win.  He cruised through seven innings to earn the victory, tying a career-high.  He allowed only one run on five hits with seven strikeouts in the game against the Gaels. 
 
Stankiewicz is currently tied for the Atlantic 10 lead in wins (3) and strikeouts (25) this season, while posting a 1.33 ERA and .183 opponent batting average.
