Newport News, Va. – (December 5, 2019) - The Atlantic 10 Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Academic All-Conference and All-Rookie teams were announced by the league on Thursday with four Fordham Rams being honored.

Ryan Kutch (Holtsville, N.Y.) was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team for the second straight season, while freshmen
John McGovern (Branchburg, N.J.),
Colin Flood (Manasquan, N.J.), and
Alexandra Thomas (Tappan, N.Y.) were named to the All-Rookie Team.
The Academic All-Conference teams comprise student-athletes who were selected based on their performance on the trails, as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, runners must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors.
For Kutch, this is the sixth time overall that he has been named to the Academic All-Conference team, receiving the accolade twice for cross country, twice for indoor track, and twice or outdoor track. A Business Administration with a concentration in Finance with a 3.44 GPA, he earned All-Atlantic 10 honors by finishing second at the Atlantic 10 Championship in 25:06.6. He later went on to earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors by finishing fourth at the NCAA Northeast Regional and advancing to the the NCAA Championship.
The All-Rookie teams consist of the top seven men's and women's freshman finishers at the 2019 A-10 Cross Country Championships.
Flood and McGovern helped Fordham to a third place team finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship, finishing 26
th (26:08.5) and 27
th (26:09.8), respectively at the Championship. During the year, each one was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week once and both performer well at the Rams' other championship events. McGovern was fifth at the Metropolitan Championship and 32
nd at the IC4A Championship, while Flood placed sixth at the Metropolitans and 41
st at the IC4As.
Thomas finished 26
th overall at the Atlantic 10 Championship in a time of 18:59.0. She had a very successful first cross country season, finishing fourth at the Metropolitan Championship and 13
th at the ECAC Championship.
