Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham baseball head coach
Kevin Leighton announced the team's 2020 schedule today, as the team looks to defend its 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship. It features 23 home games and non-conference weekend series in Florida, Arizona, South Carolina, and California.
Except for 1944, the Fordham baseball program has played every year since 1859 and stands as the winningest program in NCAA history. The Rams are looking for a repeat of the 2019 season, where Fordham won the Atlantic 10 Championship for the second time and advanced to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 1998. The Rams also set a number of modern day records last season, including wins (38), ERA (3.26), stolen bases (178), and strikeouts (605), while leading the national in stolen bases for the second straight year.
Fordham kicks off the season on February 14
th in Miami, Florida, where the Rams will open a three-game series with Florida International, as the two teams meet for the first time since 2012.

The Rams' then head to Arizona for the first time in program history to play four games from February 21-23. Fordham starts with two neutral site games with Cal St. Northridge, followed by two games at Grand Canyon University. It will be the first ever games between the Rams and the other two schools.
After a brief return to the Bronx for their home opener on February 25
th against Sacred Heart, the Rams are on the road at Furman in Greenville, South Carolina from February 28
th through March 1
st.
Fordham then begins a six-game homestand with a single game against NJIT (Mar. 4), a three-game series with Iona (Mar. 6-8), and a single game with Wagner (Mar. 11). The last game of the homestand begins a three-game series with St. John's on March 13
th with the final two games being played at St. John's on March 14
th and 15
th.
The Rams then have their final non-conference road trip out to California for the team's first-ever meeting with Cal Baptist on March 18
th, and the team's first-ever series with UC Santa Barbara from March 20-22. The remaining non-conference road opponents include Sacred Heart (Mar. 24), Siena (Apr. 7), and Columbia (Apr. 22). Fordham will also have non-conference home games with Manhattan (Mar. 25), Siena (Mar. 31), Fairfield (Apr. 14), and Albany (Apr. 28).
In conference play, Fordham's home series opponents will be against Rhode Island (Mar. 27-29), George Washington (Apr. 17-19), Davidson (May 1-3), and Massachusetts (May 14-16). The Rams then play at Saint Louis (Apr. 3-5), Saint Joseph's (Apr. 9-11), La Salle (Apr. 24-26), and Richmond (May 8-10).
Fordham will then be looking for its 11
th appearance at the Atlantic 10 Championship in the last 17 years, which will be May 20-23 at The Diamond in Richmond, Virginia, the home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a minor league affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.
