Bronx, N.Y. – (November 23, 2019) – The Fordham cross country teams concluded their 2019 season on Saturday morning by hosting the ECAC/IC4A Cross Country Championship at Van Cortlandt Park.
The day began with the coaches' races for both the women and men. Though the Rams did not have a competitor in the women's race, there were a few in the men's race, led by
Will Whelan, who won the race in a time of 26:40.
Patrick Norako was ninth in 27:14, followed by
Patrick Tuohy in 22
nd (27:41) and
Dylan Serino in 41
st (28:38).
Next was the women's ECAC Championship race, as Providence took the team title with a score of 39 points, with Marist in second (69) and Siena in third (92). Fordham finished seventh in the team standings with 209 points in the 18-team field, just two points back of George Mason for sixth (207).
Providence had the top three finishers individually, led by gold medalist Abbey Wheeler in first place with a time of 17:29.

Fordham's top finisher was
Alexandra Thomas, who crossed the line in 13
th place with a time of 18:38 over the 5K course.
Sydney Snow was the next Ram to come in at 18:59 for 26
th, with
Taylor Mascetta and
Bridget Alex in 57
th (19:33) and 58
th (19:34) place, respectively.
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski rounded out the top five for Fordham in 63
rd at 19:41.

The day was then capped with the men's IC4A Championship race with Providence once again taking the top spot with 37 points with Columbia in second (85) and Saint Joseph's in third (104). Fordham was sixth out of 16 teams with a score of 160 points.
Columbia's Tyler Berg paced the field with the top time of 24:52 over the five-mile course. Fordham had a pair of runners in the top 30 with
Nicholas Raefski in 21
st at 25:54 and
Brandon Hall in 28
th at 26:03, while
John McGovern was 32nd in 26:07.4.
Colin Flood was the next Ram across the finish line in 41
st (26:19), followed by
Christopher Strzelinski in 56
th (26:38), and
Jack Craven in 94
th (27:34) and
Ryan Fahey in 109
th (27:51).
