Men's Results (PDF)

Bronx, N.Y. – (October 11, 2019) – Behind a superb effort that saw seven of the top 12 finishers wearing Maroon & White, the Fordham men's cross country team defended its Metropolitan Cross Country Championship at Van Cortlandt Park.

With a score of 17 points, it was Fordham's fifth Metropolitan cross country title overall and fourth in the last six years.  Manhattan was runner-up with 71 points, followed by Rutgers (80), NJIT (85), Seton Hall (138), NYIT (161), and Saint Peter's (213).  NYU also competed but only four runners finished so no team score was awarded.

Individually, Fordham had a 1-2-3 finish with Nicholas Raefski taking the individual title at 26:00.6, quickly followed by Brandon Hall (26:02.7) and Ryan Kutch (26:03.0).  It marks the sixth consecutive year that a Ram has won the individual race, and all six times it has been a different winner (Quincy O'Connor – 2014, Jonathan Annelli – 2015, Brian Cook – 2016, Thomas Slattery – 2017, Kutch – 2018, & Raefski – 2019).

John McGovern and Colin Flood were the next two across the line for Fordham in fifth (26:15.8) and sixth (26:27.2) place, respectively.  Nick Lundberg (11th – 26:43.2) and Christopher Strzelinski (12th – 26:49.9) rounded out the top seven for the Rams.

Other competitors for Fordham included Ryan Fahey (17th – 27:09.6), Sean Sullivan (23rd – 27:23.8), Patrick Donahue (24th – 27:24.7), Jack Craven (25th – 27:33.2), Jack O'Connell (29th – 27:45.1), Will Whelan (40th – 28:15.2), Patrick Tuohy (46th – 28:28.6), Dylan Serino (50th – 28:34.3), Patrick Norako (53rd – 28:41.1), and Matthew Roma (57th – 29:05.9).

The Fordham cross country team will next be in action on Saturday, October 19th, when the Rams compete at the Princeton Invitational in New Jersey.
