Newport News, Va. - (December 4, 2018) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly track & field awards on Tuesday, with Fordham's Mary Kate Kenny named Women's Track Performer of the Week and Arthur Gooden Jr. earning Men's Co-Track Performer of the Week honors.
It is the first weekly honor for Kenny and Gooden Jr. this season.
Kenny opened the indoor season in style, breaking two school records at the Ocean Breeze Opener on Saturday. The senior won the 60-meter dash in a school-record and ECAC qualifying time of 7.67, besting her previous mark of 7.68 and then broke her own record in the 200-meter dash, finishing first in a time of 24.68, smashing her previous record of 25.07.
Gooden Jr. also got his indoor season off to a good start, finishing fourth in the 500 meters at the Ocean Breeze Opener in a career-best and IC4A qualifying time of 1:04.64.
Kenny, Gooden Jr. and the rest of the Rams return to action on Friday, December 7th as the Rams host the Fordham Season Opener at the Lombardi Center Field House. Events are set to begin at 2 p.m.
