Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 announced its men's and women's Academic All-Conference teams on Friday with Fordham's
Ryan Kutch and
Angelina Grebe being honored.
The Academic All-Conference teams are comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their athletic and academic performance. To be nominated, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career. The teams were selected through voting conducted by the league's Sports Information Directors.
Kutch, a Finance major with a concentration in Business Economics, made the squad posting a 3.34 GPA.
The junior had a stellar fall season, earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for winning the 5 mile race at the Atlantic 10 Championship in a season-best time of 24:36.4, becoming the first Fordham runner in program history to win the A-10 Championship.
Earlier in the season Kutch also won the Metropolitan Championship and the Stony Brook Invitational, while posting top 15 finishes at the Iona Meet of Champions (4
th) and the Paul Short Invitational (14
th).
Grebe, a chemistry major, made the squad posting a 3.74 GPA.
The senior had her best career-finish at the Atlantic 10 Championship, placing 11
th in a season-best 17:39.5. Grebe also posted top five finishes at the Metropolitan Championship (2
nd) and the Stony Brook Invitational (2
nd) while also placing 12
th at the Iona Meet of Champions.
