Kutch Wins Atlantic 10 Championship

Mechanicsville, Va. – It was a historic day for the Fordham track & field teams at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship, held at Pole Green Park, as junior Ryan Kutch won the men's championship and the Fordham women finished third, their best finish in program history.

Kutch is the first Fordham runner in program history to win the A-10 Championship, crossing the finish line in a season-best time of 24:36.4. The Most Outstanding Performer also received All-Atlantic 10 Honors for the second straight season.

Also in action for Fordham were Brian Cook (24th – 25:35.8), Sean Sullivan (62nd – 26:13.4), Brandon Hall (64th – 26:16.1), Matthew Roma (81st – 26:32.6), Patrick Donahue (98th – 26:57.8) and Will Whelan (112th – 27:43.5).

On the women's side, Angelina Grebe led the way for the Rams, finishing 11th in the 5K in a season-best 17:39.5. It was a career-best finish for the senior at the A-10 Championship who was also named to the All-Conference team. Crossing the line next for Fordham were Abigail Taylor and Katarzyna Krzyzanowski who finished tied for 16th place in 17:54.9, season-best times for both. Rounding out the scoring for the Rams were Sydney Snow (49th – 18:32.9) and Kate McCormack (58th – 18:40.2).

Also competing were Laurel Fisher (59th – 18:41.0), Bridget Alex (62nd – 18:47.0), Sarah Daniels (67th – 18:52.3), Germaine Harbaugh (19:25.7) and Blake Elwood (100th – 19:29.9).

Richmond won the women's team championship with a score of 41, followed by Dayton (94), Fordham (150), La Salle (153), Saint Louis (158), George Mason (162), George Washington (174), Duquesne (185), Davidson (192), Saint Joseph's (209), VCU (223), Rhode Island (322), UMass (352) and St. Bonaventure (434).

Dayton took home the men's team title with a score of 72, followed by La Salle (75), Saint Louis (118), Saint Joseph's (124), George Mason (136), UMass (145), Duquesne (153), Richmond (161), George Washington (211), Fordham (220), Davidson (309), VCU (362), Rhode Island (374) and St. Bonaventure (453).

The Rams return to action Friday November 9 at the NCAA Regionals, hosted by Buffalo. Races are set to begin at 10 a.m.
