Gio Grassi Named Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Former NY Giants Intern joins Rams

Gio Grassi, who served as the strength and conditioning intern for the New York Giants in 2017, was named assistant strength and conditioning coach at Fordham University in January of 2018.
 
At Fordham, Grassi will be charged with the design, implementation, and evaluation of sport-specific speed, strength, and conditioning for varsity teams as well as analyzing nutritional habits or student-athletes and educating them on healthy dietary choices. He will also responsible for computer data entry of strength, speed, and conditioning test results, and athlete nutritional analyses.
 
Grassi served as the strength and conditioning intern for the New York Giants from April of 2017 until August of 2017 where he assisted with the development of the strength and conditioning program and conducted warms up for conditioning and pre-practice sessions.
 
Since April of 2015 Grassi has also been working as the strength and conditioning coach/ACL Return-to-Sport Program Coordinator at HackensackUMC Fitness and Wellness Powered by the New York Giants. He develops ACL Return-to-Sport exercise programs tailored to the type of ACL surgery, athlete sex and sport.
 
From June of 2014 until March of 2017, Grassi served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University where he developed strength and conditioning, speed/agility and plyometric programs for all 19 NCAA Division I programs. He also collaboratively established a Bio-Analytics framework to manage athlete fatigue, maximize readiness and minimize injuries by utilizing daily RPE's and Sleep Cycles programs.
 
Grassi also served as an intern football strength and conditioning coach at Rutgers in the spring of 2017 and as a strength and conditioning coach/NFL Combine Preparatory Coach at the Parisi School from 2010-2015.
 
A 2009 graduate of Delaware State University where he received a degree in sports science and was a member of the football squad from 2005-2007, Grassi also earned a master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in sports administration in 2017.
