Fordham Athletics Celebrates Another Successful Giving Tuesday

Rams raised in excess of $670,000 to support student-athletes

BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham Athletics Department enjoyed another successful Giving Tuesday last week, raising more than $670,000 to support the more than 1,000 gifted varsity and club sport student-athletes who call Fordham home.

More than 880 donors participated, a 3.7% increase on last year's participation.  The results were the second best Giving Tuesday results, just under last year's record of over $700,000 raised. This year's online participation also smashed previous records with the most online dollars raised ever, beating the previous high from 2023.

"The Ramily community continues to invest in our shared vision for excellence by stepping up and supporting our student-athletes on Giving Tuesday," Director of Athletics and Recreation Charles Guthrie said. "We are extremely appreciative of each of our loyal supporters for believing in our plan to elevate our sport programs to achieve competitive excellence."

Fresh off its second straight NCAA National Semifinals at the Collegiate Water Polo Championship and its fifth consecutive MAWPC title, the Fordham water polo program led the way on Giving Tuesday, as the team raised over $240,000 in support of its program.

The Fordham rowing and swimming and diving programs each experienced a 400+ percent increase from last year. Swimming and Diving was able to generate increased volume in donor engagement as they are celebrating their 100th year anniversary during the 2025-26 season.

Rounding out last week's excitement, the Club sailing program generated a significant increase in donor participation which resulted securing over $125,000 in donations.
