Bronx, N.Y. – Nine former Rams joined the likes of Frankie Frisch, Vince Lombardi, and Anne Gregory as they were formally inducted into the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday night before a packed room in the McShane Center.
 
Former head football coach Larry Glueck, Sanford Jenkins '92 (men's basketball), Daniel Mastrangelo '88 (men's tennis), Brian McClure '06 (golf), Fiona Murtagh '16 (women's rowing), Katie Sanchez '09 (women's soccer), Mike Snell '03 (Rowing), Allison (Stoec) Johnson '08 (softball), and Teri Vaccarino '85 (women's basketball) returned to campus for the ceremony and to be officially recognized as a Hall of Famer.
 
To commence the 100^th anniversary of the Fordham men's swimming and diving program, the night started by honoring the 1990-91 men's swimming and diving team, a team that went undefeated during the season and won the 1991 Patriot League championship.
 
Along with the new inductees, Dennis Ruppel '68, a Fordham trustee fellow and water polo alum, and his wife and Patricia Ann Ruppel, received the Victory Bell Award. The Victory Bell Award honors individuals who have brought distinction and honor to Fordham University Athletics through achievements not related to competition, coaching and/or administration.
 
Malcolm Moran '75, who served as a reporter for The Fordham Ram and as Sports Director at WFUV where he was the first host of "One on One" when the program went on the air in 1974, received the Bob Ahrens Award. The award is named for the late Bob Ahrens, longtime WFUV Executive Sports Producer, who was instrumental in the postgraduate success of the students who worked with him. The award will recognizes someone who worked with WFUV, The Ram, or The Observer as students or staff at Fordham and achieved significant achievements following graduation.
 
Before the 2026 class was introduced, John Mulcahy '1894, founder of the Fordham men's rowing program and 1904 Olympic gold medalist, received his recognition. Mulcahy was inducted into the Fordham Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991 but had passed away in 1942 and no one was present at his induction ceremony. Thanks to the work of Fordham rowing historian James Sciales that was corrected this year as Sciales discovered that Jack Mulcahy, a multi-award-winning American actor and director and grandson of John, was able to attend and accept the Hall of Fame plaque on his grandfather's behalf.

Larry Glueck (Football Coach)

• Served as head football coach at Fordham from 1986-1993, leading the Rams to Liberty Conference titles in 1987 and 1988.
• The 1987 squad defeated Hofstra in an NCAA Division III playoff game, Fordham's first postseason appearance since a victory in the 1942 Sugar Bowl.
• Was at the helm of the Fordham program when the Rams became the third NCAA Division III program to make the move to the FCS (then I-AA) in 1989.
• Prior to his time at Rose Hill, Glueck spent 13 seasons as an assistant coach at Harvard under head coach Joe Restic.
• A graduate of Villanova University and member of the school's Varsity Club Hall of Fame, Glueck was a member of the Wildcats' 1962 Sun Bowl championship team. 

Sanford Jenkins '92 (Men's Basketball)

• One of winningest and most productive basketball players in Fordham's 122+ year history.
• One of only four players in Fordham History with 1000+ points, 750+ rebounds and 100+ blocks and one of only eight players in Fordham history with 1000+ points and 750+ rebounds.
• Graduated number 21 on the all-time scoring list (1,052 points)
• Graduated seventh on the all-time rebounding list (756 rebounds)
• Graduated third on the all-time blocked shots list (111).
• Member of the 1991 and 1992 Patriot League Championship Teams
• Played on three post season teams: one (1) NCAA team (1991-92) and two (2) NIT
• Teams (1989-90) and (1990-91)
• Led the Patriot League in rebounding in 1991-92 (8.7 rebounds/game)
• Selected All-Patriot League (2nd Team)

Daniel Mastrangelo '88 (Men's Tennis)

• Men's Tennis college career singles and doubles match record of 81-18.
• Men's Tennis Team won the MAAC Tournament 3 out of 4 years.
• MAAC Doubles champion 2 out of 4 years.
• Captain of team Junior and Senior years.
• Men's Tennis singles and doubles match record of 44-0 as a freshman.
• 1985 MAAC Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Champion.
• Member of the 1985 MAAC Men's Tennis Team Champion.
• Member of the 1988 MAAC Men's Tennis Team Champion.
• 1988 MAAC Men's Tennis Doubles Champion.

Brian McClure '06 (Golf)

• Four-year golf team member
• Individual winner of three events:
  • SPC Quad Match
  • Peacock Invitational
  • Hofstra Invitational
• At the time of graduation, held the record for:
  • Only player to hold the lead in the conference tournament
  • Lowest single round
  • Lowest three round total
  • Lowest career scoring average in school history
  • Lowest single season scoring average in school history
• Had the two best individual finishes in Atlantic 10 conference championship.
• Helped the team to its best finish in the A10 conference in 2004 (4^th place)
• Individual statistics over 42 career tournament appearances:
  • 20 top 20 finishes
  • 18 top 15 finishes
  • 10 top 10 finishes
  • Six top three finishes 

Fiona Murtagh '16 (Women's Rowing)

• The first woman in Fordham history to ever win an Olympic medal (2020 Bronze medal with Irish National Team).
• Recently won a gold medal at the 2025 World Rowing Championships in the single scull.
• Arrived at Fordham in 2013 and made her mark on the rowing program, highlighted by the Fordham club 4 winning the Head of Charles two years in a row.
• The first win was at the 2013 regatta where the Rams won gold, becoming the first Fordham women's crew to win an event at the prestigious regatta.
• Earned first team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2016 when she helped the Rams to a third place team finish, matching Fordham's best finish at the championship.
• Also earned second team all-conference accolades in 2014.
• Holds the women's school record on the ergometer for both 2K and 6K.
• Prior to coming to Fordham she commenced her junior rowing career with a stellar performance when she stroked the women's novice eight to a gold medal at the 2011 Irish National Championships.
• Also in 2011, she represented Ireland at the Home International Regatta against England, Scotland, and Wales as the stroke seat of the gold medal winning coxed four.
• Continued her success with another gold medal winning performance in the stroke seat of the Women's Junior 8 at the 2012 Irish National Championships.

Katie Sanchez '09 (Women's Soccer)

• Fordham career assists leader with 19.
• Ranks second on the career scoring list with 75 points and third on the career goals list with 28.
• Named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2005.
• Second on the 2005 team in scoring with six goals and four assists for 16 points.
• Named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2006.
• SoccerBuzz Third Team All-Northeast Region selection in 2006.
• Registered 12 goals and six assists for 30 points in 2006 (all team-highs), the second highest single season point total in team history and third-most goals in a season.
• Helped Fordham to the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championship game against Saint Louis.
• Led team in scoring for second time in 2007 with five goals and four assists for 14 points and helped Fordham to the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship game vs. Charlotte.
• Was the team's second leading scorer in 2008 with five goals and five assists for 15 points and helped Fordham to the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals. 

Mike Snell '03 (Men's Rowing)

• Won medals at major national events all four years at Fordham.
• Won bronze medal in varsity lightweight 4 as a freshman walk-on at Dad Vail National Championship.
• Took home a gold medal in varsity lightweight 4 as sophomore at Dad Vail National Championship.
• Won a gold medal in varsity lightweight 8 as junior at Dad Vail National Championship.
• A gold medalist at the ECAC National Collegiate Invitational Regatta in varsity lightweight 8 as senior.
• Made the Grand Final of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta in both 2001 and 2002, missing bronze medal to Harvard by 0.1 seconds in 2001.

Allison (Storc) Johnson '08 (Softball)

• First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection in 2007.
• Second Team All-Atlantic 10 in 2006.
• Honorable Mention All-Atlantic 10 in 2008.
• NFCA First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region in 2007.
• Helped Fordham to the 2005 Atlantic 10 regular season title and Championship game appearances in 2005 & 2006

• Ninth on the career rebounding list with 705 and second in career rebounding average (8.6).
