Bronx, N.Y. – Ten Fordham University athletic teams were publicly recognized by the NCAA for their latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores, posting a perfect 1,000 in the multi-year APR rating ending in 2024-2025. The Rams were second among all Atlantic 10 schools with nine league-sponsored teams honored with a perfect APR score.

The Fordham water polo squad was recognized for the tenth straight year, while women's swimming and diving was honored for the ninth consecutive year, the tenth overall. Joining those two teams was men's basketball, which was recognized for the fourth straight season and was the lone Atlantic 10 men's basketball program to record a 1,000 APR, women's cross country, honored for the third straight season, along with men's cross country, men's soccer, softball, women's tennis, women's basketball, and women's track & field.

Women's tennis achieved the 1,000 APR score for the 19th time in 20 years, while water polo was recognized for the 14th time. Women's track and field recorded a perfect APR for the 15th time while women's swimming has accomplished the feat for the 12th time. Men's soccer (11), and softball (7) also have multiple seasons with a 1,000 APR score while women's basketball turned in the perfect score for the first time.

National sport averages for the four years ending in 2024-25 increased from last year's reported APR scores, as well. Men's basketball increased by 3 points to 971. Women's basketball (984) and Football Bowl Subdivision (971) both increased by 2 points, while baseball (980) and Football Championship Subdivision football (959) each increased by 1 point.

Five other Fordham programs earned an APR score of 990 or higher: baseball, football, men's track and field, women's soccer, and rowing.

Fordham has the highest institutional multi-year average among the 14 full Atlantic 10 members, with a 994.2 average, followed by Richmond's 994.1. Davidson's program average is 993, followed by Saint Joseph's at 992.7 and Duquesne at 991.1.

Each academic year, every Division I sports team's APR is calculated using a simple and consistent formula. Scholarship student-athletes can earn 1 point for staying on course for a degree in their chosen major and 1 point for being retained (or graduating) at the end of each academic term. A team's total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000. For schools that do not offer athletics scholarships, recruited student-athletes are tracked.

Fordham recorded the second most teams with a perfect multi-year APR score among Atlantic 10 schools with nine (the conference does not sponsor water polo). Davidson had eleven teams with a perfect score while Saint Joseph's also had nine.

The Atlantic 10 Conference ranks among the national leaders in APR data, posting a rate of 991. There were 13 Atlantic 10 schools above the NCAA national average in all sports, and 58 teams earned public recognition from the NCAA.

The 991 rate matches the highest average in the last six years and places the Atlantic 10 tied for fifth place among all 32 Division I conferences. The A-10 had 139 teams at or above the national average in their sport, representing nearly 61 percent of the league's total teams. Additionally, 57 programs recorded a perfect rate of 1,000.

The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2021-22, and 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 academic years.
