Gio Grassi, who is entering his third year with Fordham University, was named assistant strength and conditioning coach at Fordham University in January of 2018. He works directly with Football, Baseball, Volleyball, Water Polo, and men's and women's Track and Field.
 
Currently at Fordham, Grassi will be charged with the design, implementation, and evaluation of sport-specific speed, strength, and conditioning for varsity teams as well as analyzing nutritional habits for student-athletes and educating them on healthy dietary choices, as well as sleep monitoring. He will also be responsible for computer data entry of strength, speed, and conditioning test results, and athlete nutritional analyses.

In 2019, Grassi helped Fordham Baseball win their first Atlantic-10 Title since 1998. The Rams achieved their best ever single season win total in 2019. The Rams have an overall record of 82-49-1 record since 2018.
 
Grassi served as the Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New York Giants in 2017, where he assisted with the development of the strength and conditioning program, conducted physical assessments of all rookies, as well as warm ups for conditioning and pre-practice sessions.
 
From April of 2015 to August 2019, Grassi was also working as the ACL Return-to-Sport Program Coordinator at HackensackUMC Fitness and Wellness Powered by the Giants, where he developed post-op ACL Return-to-Sport exercise programs tailored to the type of ACL surgery, athlete sex, and sport.
 
From June of 2014 until March of 2017, Grassi served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University where he assisted in developing strength and conditioning, speed/agility and plyometric programs for all 19 NCAA Division I programs. He also collaboratively established a Bio-Analytics framework to manage athlete fatigue, maximize readiness and minimize injuries by utilizing daily RPE’s and Sleep Cycles programs with basketball and soccer programs.
 
Grassi also served as an Intern Football Strength and Conditioning Coach at Rutgers in the winter of 2016/2017, and as a Strength and Conditioning Coach/NFL Combine Preparatory Coach at the Parisi School from 2010-2015.
 
A 2009 graduate of Delaware State University, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Movement Science and was a member of the MEAC Championship football team in 2007, and also earned a Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Sports Administration in 2017.

Grassi is a certified member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCCa) as well as the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He also hold his level-1 nutrition certification with Precision Nutrition, and is also certified with Functional Range Conditioning (FRC).

Gio Grassi resides in New Jersey with his wife Lindsey.
