BRONX – The Fordham men's basketball program has been behind many firsts. The first televised college basketball game was the 1940 Fordham-Pitt game at Madison Square Garden. The first use of the three-point field goal came five years later when the Rams hosted Columbia and a three-point shot (then called a "long goal") was used experimentally. On April 12, the historic Rose Hill Gym will witness another first. The first WellBall event on a college campus.

Sixteen teams will compete for the inaugural WellBall title with the winning squad walking away with a check for $10,000!

WellBall, the pickleball of basketball, is a fast, competitive, and skill-based shooting sport where precision beats athleticism. It was created by Omar Wellington, a former student-athlete at Sacred Heart University, who spent most of his career training professional NBA players.

Stephon Marbury has been a key catalyst in the overall growth of WellBall by using his influence and network to further grow the game. Want to know more about the game? Watch Marbury explain the game here.
