Media, Pa. - The Fordham men's tennis team dropped a close match at Saint Joseph's 4-3 Friday night at the Springton Indoor Tennis Club.

Fordham grabbed the early lead taking the doubles point as Tomas Cosmai and Allen Thornes defeated Tim Stierle and Kyle Chalmers 6-3 in second doubles and Nick Borak and Jeremy Chung defeated Tristan Boustany and Peter Dewitt 6-3 in third doubles.

But the Hawks rallied in singles play winning the first four matches to secure the victory. Fabian Mauritzson and Nick Borak secured the only singles victories for the Rams as Mauritzson defeated Andre Fick 6-3, 6-7 (2), 10-6 in third singles and Borak bested Boustany 6-0, 5-7, 7-5 in fifth singles.

The Rams return to action Sunday April 9 as they host Coppin State and St. Francis College Brooklyn in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. on Hawthorn Rooney Tennis Courts.
