Fordham Volleyball Speaks at Nellie Thornton High School

Rams Give Talk about Benefits of Attending College

As a part of the team's community service efforts, the Fordham volleyball team visited Nellie Thornton High School in Mount Vernon, N.Y. on Wednesday.

The visit was for an after school program that the Rams talked about the benefits of attending college and participating in extra-curricular activities during high school.

"It was really great to see so many kids interested in the idea of attending college and the possibility of playing a sport in college," said sophomore Grace Muller. "I think that after hearing us and asking questions they could really understand the many great aspects of college and hopefully we opened some of their minds to think of doing things that they haven't thought of doing before."

"It was really rewarding to be able to talk to some of the students at Nellie Thornton High School. They really enjoyed hearing about the great athletic and academic experiences that Fordham has given us. I am looking forward to hopefully going to some other schools in the future and inspiring more students to dream big about their futures," said sophomore Emily Fronk.
