Men's Tennis Defeats Rockland, Adelphi on Senior Day

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis team rounded out the home portion of its season with two wins on Sunday, against Rockland and Adelphi, while also honoring senior Pedro Alonso before the start of the latter match. With the results, the Rams move to 14-6 on the season and head into one final road contest at La Salle on Wednesday morning before this weekend's A-10 Championships.
 
The Rams defeated Rockland College, 6-1, in the matinee, garnering all three doubles victories and five of six singles matches. The results can be found below.
 
Like in the morning, Fordham grabbed the doubles point with three straight victories. Alonso and Nick Borak won #1 doubles, 6-3, before Tomas Cosmai and Joseph Kavaloski dropped Roey Heymann and Connor Dove, 6-2. Victor Li and Cameron Posillico rounded tandem action out with a 6-3 victory over Sebastian Zapata and Daniel Khodosh.
 
Fittingly, in singles action, Pedro Alonso kicked things off with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Zapata, before Heymann got Adelphi on the board with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Borak. Harris Durkovic grinded out a three-set 3-6, 6-1, 10-5 victory over Dove in #6 singles. Cosmai dropped a three set match of his own but Victor Li clinched victory with his 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 10-7 win over Sander Brenner.
 
The Rams head to Philadelphia to take on La Salle on Wednesday morning before continuing south down to Charlottesville, Va. for A-10s.
