Box Score Orlando, Fla. – Once again the Fordham University men's tennis team battled to the end but this time the Rams came up short, falling to Davidson College, 4-1, at the 2025 Atlantic10 Championship at the USTA National Campus on Thursday.
 
With the loss, Fordham, who entered the championship as the four-seed – Fordham's highest ever seed, closes out the season with a 9-9 record, the most wins for the Rams since 2019.
 
Fordham opened the match by winning the doubles point taking two of the three doubles matches. After the Wildcats took third doubles, Phillip Uhde and Filip Horak were up 4-3 to Davidson's Juan Camilo Perez Bongora and Uddayvir Singh at second doubles when the Wildcat pair defaulted. Dhillon Virdee-Oakley and Dhanajay Athreya then clinched the point for the Rams with a 6-3 win over Nico Pinzon and Gregorio Hidalgo at first doubles.
 
Though Fordham dropped the first four completed singles matches, the Rams didn't go down easy, with three of the four matches going to a third set. After Davidson won at fourth singles, Jeremy Victoria battled back after dropping the first set to Pinzon at the sixth position, 6-2, to win the second, 6-4. (DAV) But Victoria couldn't complete the comeback, falling 6-4 in the third set.
 
At third singles, Will Lokier took the first set from Gregorio Hidalgo, 6-3, but Hidalgo came back to win the second, 7-5(6), and the third, 6-3.
 
First singles was a dogfight as Virdee-Oakley took the first set from Singh, 7-5, but dropped the second by the same score. The third set went to a tiebreaker with Singh squeaking past Virdee-Oakley, 7-6(5).
