Track Opens Outdoor Season at Fred Hardy Invitational

Richmond, Va. – The Fordham University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams opened their 2016 outdoor season with an appearance at the Fred Hardy Invitational held at the University of Richmond on Friday and Saturday.
 
Jake Duckworth was the lone event winner for Fordham, taking the 5000m in a time of 15:15.61, beating Skeeter Morris to the line by just one-tenth of a second.
 
The two squads excelled in the relays with the men's 4x800 team of Nik O'Brien, Mike Turi, Jonathan Annelli and Duckworth winning the event in a time of 7:56.20 while the Fordham B team of Fritz Heinrich, Ryan McGann, Sean Phillips and Michael Campbell placed third (8:11.50).  
 
In women's relays the Fordham 4x400 A team of Morgan Menzzasalma, Merissa Wright, Mary Kate Kenny, and Danielle Rowe placed second (3:56.20) and the B team of Leah Hickey, Aidan Moroz, Christina Perrier and Georgeanne Siller took sixth (4:03.41)
