Complete Bucknell Invitational Results
Lewisburg, Pa. – The Fordham swimming & diving team wrapped up competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday, finishing fourth out of nine teams in both the men's and women's standings.
In the women's standings, Towson finished first with 1,298.5 points, followed by Bucknell (1,268.5), North Dakota (1,124.5), Fordham (1,096.5), Georgetown (968), La Salle (506.5), Binghamton (368.5), Massachusetts (216), and Susquehanna (3).
On the men's side, Towson also finished first with 1,271.5 points ahead of La Salle (1,049), North Dakota (983), Fordham (932.5), Georgetown (870), Bucknell (804), Binghamton (655), Massachusetts (226), and Susquehanna (29).
The final day of competition began with the 1650 freestyle where five Rams scored in the event.
Liam Semple and
Christopher Sleutjes were both top five finishers on the men's side, taking third (15:40.13) and fifth (15:41.17), respectively. On the women's side,
Chloe Mitchell had the top time, clocking in at 17:16.41, good for eighth place, while
Erin McBride was tenth overall (17:22.23) and
Natalie Malicki grabbed 22
nd (17:53.72).
Next up was the 200 backstroke, where Fordham had seven Rams score, including four men.
Miguel Mattox led the group with a fifth place finish, as he posted a time of 1:50.17.
Isiah Magsino was 12
th overall in 1:53.15, followed by
Ethan D'Arcangelo in 16
th (1:55.31) and
Greg Lombana in 20
th (1:56.21).
Catherine Alabanza was Fordham's top finisher in the women's event, taking sixth in 2:02.24, with
Morgan Fairclough grabbing 12
th (2:04.29) and
Julia Day winning the "C" final for 17
th overall (2:04.79).
The 100 freestyle event had five Rams in the finals, led by
Joseph Vizza, as he took second overall in the men's event in 45.37 seconds, while
Joe Mercurio was eighth in 46.94 seconds.
Theresa Mullen was the top time in the women's event, finishing 12
th in 52.01, while
Samantha McDonald was 13
th (52.54) and
Erin McBride was 19
th (52.90).
Fordham saved its best scoring for the final two events, as nine Rams scored in the 200 breaststroke, while ten did so in the 200 butterfly.

In the 200 breaststroke,
Nele Albers had the best finish of all the Rams, grabbing third place in 2:19.61 with
Marie Feneron taking seventh in 2:21.47.
Amie Ko (18
th – 2:25.05) and
Yvonne Kang (22
nd – 2:27.90) also scored in the women's event. On the men's side,
Travis Monahan (2:08.88) and Magsino (2:09.53) finished 11
th and 14
th respectively as a part of the "B" final, while
Connor Griffin (20
th – 2:12.01),
Nicholas D'Souza (23
rd – 2:14.61), and
Alex Tunaru (24
th – 2:15.00) scored as a part of the "C" final.
The final individual swimming event was the 200 butterfly, where
Megan Polaha won her third event of the Invitational, winning the women's event in an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:58.92. Right behind her was
Amelia Bullock, who was second in 2:00.70, and
Kalena Laurent, who took fifth in 2:04.40. Other women to score were
Jacqueline Dominger (11
th – 2:05.12), Alabanza (20
th – 2:08.29), and
Erin Gray (21
st – 2:09.18). Over on the men's side,
Chris Viera was fourth overall in 1:51.64, followed by Lombana in sixth (1:51.83),
Tommy Christensen in 11
th (1:54.29), and
Manny Avila in 23
rd (1:57.18).
In diving,
Wendy Espina-Esquivel was the top scorer, as she posted 272.30 points to finish fifth overall, with
Stephanie Kerkeles taking 11
th (223.80) and
Natalie Wodniak finishing 20
th (186.35).
The final event of the Bucknell Invitational was the 400 freestyle relay, where Semple, Mercurio, Monahan, and Vizza placed third in 3:03.88, while the women's team of McDonald, Laurent, McBride, and Mullen were fourth in 3:29.88.
The Fordham swimming & diving team will next be in action on Wednesday, December 7
th, when the Rams host Manhattan College at 6:00 PM.
