The Fordham swimming & diving team was back in action for the first time since early December on Friday, as the Rams hosted the Iona Gaels at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.  The Rams picked up right where they left off in December, as they swept the meet from the Gaels, 140-82 on the women's side and 137-92 on the men's.

The Rams opened the meet with seven straight event wins, beginning with two in the 400 medley relay event.  Spencer Chappell, Victoria McGovern, Shannon Lulley, and Maureen McKenna won the women's event in 3:59.18, while J.T. Klimko, Steve Sholdra, Thomas Gillespie, and Patrick Militti took home the men's event in 3:33.86.

Kalena Laurent then captured the first of two individual events on the day, winning the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:30.19.  She also won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.64.

Laurent wasn't the only dual event winner, as Megan Gray, Sholdra, and Chris Viera all won twice.  Gray took the 100-yard freestyle in 53.36 seconds, while tying Chandler Lulley for first in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.97 seconds.

Sholdra won both the 200-yard individual medley (1:55.46) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.07), while Viera took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.02) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.84).
