Bronx, N.Y. (September 4, 2014) -  The Fordham University football Rams take to the road for the first time in 2014, traveling to Villanova, Pennsylvania, to face the Villanova University Wildcats in Villanova Stadium on Saturday, September 6, at 3:30 p.m.

The game will be televised live nationally on the American Sports Network (click here for local affiliates) and streamed live on the Patriot League Network with Dave Armstrong (p-b-p) and Ross Tucker (analyst) announcing. The game can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUV.org with Mike Watts (p-b-p) and Nick Logerfo (color) handling the announcing chores and Kelly Kultys on the sidelines.

#11/10 Fordham enters the game after a season-opening 52-23 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) University on Jack Coffey Field last week. #10/7 Villanova enters the game after a 27-26 double overtime loss at Syracuse on August 28.

A few notes on the game:

Joining captains Stephen Hodge, Dan Light and Ian Williams will be Fordham game captains Mike Nebrich (offense), Victor DiFusco (defense) and Marc DeSisto (special teams)

The scout players of the week were announced following practice: James Orfini (offense), Brandon Weir (defense) and Ben Johnson (special teams)

This will be the 29th meeting between Fordham and Villanova on the gridiron with Wildcats leading the all-time series, which started in 1897, 20-4-4… Fordham took last year's meeting, 27-24 on September 7 Jack Coffey Field as Mike Nebrich completed 26 of 35 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown and he rushed 20 times for 102 yards and two scores and the Fordham defense forced five fumbles

Freshman running back Chase Edmonds will look to build off the success in his collegiate debut when he carried 19 times for 181 yards and two scores while also returning tree kickoffs for 119 yards. He set a school freshman rushing record with the 181 yards (the former record was 157 by Xavier Martin in 2002) while his 300 all-purpose yards was the best among all NCAA FCS players on the week.

For his exploits, Edmonds was named The Sports Network NCAA FCS Rookie of the Week, the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the ECAC Rookie of the Week and honorable mention CFPA All-Purpose Performer of the Week.

The 52 points put on the board by the Rams in the season-opening win over Saint Francis (Pa.) was the most points scored by Fordham in a season opener on Jack Coffey Field against an NCAA FCS opponent (previous record was the 51 points scored by Fordham against Rhode Island in last year's season opener).
