Biography
Returned to action last fall after missing the 2012 season with an injury and didn’t skip a beat, appearing in 13 games and finishing tenth on team in total tackles… earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors once last fall… looks to fill the void at linebacker left by the graduation of Jake Rodriques… missed the 2012 season with an injury… made a seamless transition from high school to college football, appearing in all eleven games for Fordham in 2011… led all Fordham freshmen in tackles… named one of the Top 100 high school football players in New York… named to the 2011 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2013: Appeared in 13 games as a junior, making two starts… finished the season with 31 total tackles, 19 solo, including 4.5 for loss… also had two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one quarterback hurry… earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors following the win over eighth-ranked Villanova where he recorded seven total tackles, including three tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles and one recovered fumble, and played a role in three of the five turnovers, all fumbles, which Fordham forced in the game… followed that game with a career-high eight tackles, six solo, including 0.5 for loss, in win at Temple… made three solo stops in Liberty Cup win over Columbia… also had three tackles, one solo, in win over Saint Francis.
2012: Missed season with an injury.
2011: Appeared in all eleven games as a freshman, starting one… led all freshmen on the roster with 37 total tackles, 19 solo… also had a tackle for loss… made a season-high nine tackles, two solo, at Lafayette, including a tackle for loss… recorded seven stops, two solo, at Colgate… finished with six tackles, two solo, at Army… made three solo stops in the season opener at Connecticut… also had three solo tackles at Rhode Island and three more against Bucknell.
Before Fordham: A graduate of Mahopac High School in Mahopac, New York, where he lettered in football, wrestling and baseball… played football for head coach Tom Donahoe… named to the 2011 Empower Classic Downstate Football Team… identified as one of the Top 100 football players in New York state… an All-State, All-Section and All-League pick… named Lineman of the Year… named to the All-Journal News Team…. served as a team captain and named team MVP… led team to an undefeated regular season, winning 2010 League AA-North and reaching the first Section 1 championship game in program history… led team in tackles in league play as a junior and senior.
Personal: Son of Elisa DiFusco and the late Vittorio DiFusco… has an older sister, Nicole, and two younger sisters, AnnaNoella and Olivia… a Business Administration major.
