BRONX, N.Y. – Fordham announced changes to the 2026 football schedule today with the Rams slated to travel to North Dakota State University on Sept. 5. This game will replace the originally schedule game at Central Connecticut State University on that day.

The Rams also announced that the season opener will now be held on Friday night, August 28, at 6:00 p.m. as they welcome Colgate University to Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field for a Patriot League contest.

It will be the first ever meeting between Fordham and North Dakota State on the gridiron. The Bison are moving up to the FBS level in 2026 after winning ten NCAA FCS titles since 2011. They will be playing football in the Mountain West Conference beginning this fall.

The game will be the first Fordham football game played in North Dakota and the first game that the Rams will play in a domed stadium. It's believed that it will be the furthest west that Fordham has played a football game (Fargo is at 96.7898 degrees west, the next western most game was at Nebraska in 2021 which is at 96.7026 degrees west).
