Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham University freshman linebacker
AJ Revella was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday. Revella is the first Ram to earn Rookie of the Week honors this season and the second Fordham player to receive a weekly award in 2026.
In Fordham's 20-14 victory over 15th/19th-ranked Richmond on Saturday at Moglia Stadium, Revella recorded a career-best seven total tackles and the first forced fumble of his career as the Rams earned their second win over a ranked opponent this season. Fordham's defense limited the Spiders to 204 total yards, including just 82 rushing yards, and held Richmond scoreless in the fourth quarter.
On the season, Revella has 31 total tackles, while his two fumble recoveries are tied for third in the country.
Revella's selection marks the first time a Fordham defensive player has earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors since linebacker
Jaylen Dawson received the award in September 2024. He is also the first Ram overall to earn the distinction since wide receiver
Troy Worrell in November 2025.
The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 17, when they host Villanova at Moglia Stadium.
