Nashville, Tenn. – Fordham grad student linebacker
James Conway has had a busy but rewarding postseason, capped tonight by an appearance at the 2025 Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show at the historic Woolworth Theater where he finished third in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award.
Â
The Buck Buchanan Award is named for the legendary defensive lineman who starred at Grambling State as part of his Hall of Fame career and is presented to the NCAA FCS Defensive Player of the Year. Past recipients include Allen, Dexter Coakley, Rashean Mathis and Arthur Moats.

Conway is the third Ram to be honored at the FCS National Awards Show, joining running back Chase Edmonds, who won the Jerry Rice Award in 2014 as the NCAA FCS Rookie of the Year, and quarterback Tim DeMorat, who was runner-up for the Walter Payton Award in 2022 as the NCAA FCS Offensive Player of the Year.
