Justine Stevenson and Aliza Feuerstein Named Assistant Athletic Trainers at Fordham

Ram Athletic Training Office adds two to staff

Bronx, N.Y. (September 3, 2014) -  Justine Stevenson and Aliza Feuerstein were named assistant athletic trainers at Fordham University it was announced by head athletic trainer Vincent Porricelli. Stevenson will work with the women's basketball, rowing and men's tennis programs while Feuerstein will be responsible for volleyball, swimming & diving and women's tennis.
 
Stevenson arrives at Fordham after serving as an assistant athletic trainer at St. Francis College in Brooklyn the past year where she worked with the women's basketball team.
 
A 2012 Cum Laude graduate LIU Brooklyn with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Athletic Training, Stevenson was a member of the Blackbirds' women's basketball team for four seasons. Following her playing days, she served as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2011-2012 campaign, assisting with day-to-day practice, equipment management, film exchange, recruiting, and team travel.
 
Stevenson served as the LIU Brooklyn Athletic Training Club President from September 2011 until May, 2012.  She was awarded the LIU Brooklyn Graduate Award for Clinical Excellence in 2012 and was a member of two Honor Societies, Alpha Eta Honor Society for the School of Health Professions as well as the Iota Tau Alpha (Beta Nu Chapter), Athletic Training Honor Society.
 
While attending LIU Brooklyn, Stevenson also gained valuable athletic training experience with organizations such as the Blackbirds athletic department, Manhattan College Athletics, Wagner College, and One on One Physical Therapy Clinic (Brooklyn, NY).  She worked with Manhattan's Division I Men's Lacrosse team in 2012, managing daily training room activities, practice coverage and setup, and also handled various rehabilitations. She also worked with the football team at Wagner and assisted in athletic training duties for six different sports at LIU Brooklyn as a student.
 
The Jackson, New Jersey native holds a Board of Certification for Athletic Training as well as a CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer.
 
Feuerstein comes to Fordham after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the New York Red Bulls this past spring where she assisted the sports medicine staff with recognition, evaluation and treatment of injuries. She also assisted in creating nutritional diet plans and worked with the Red Bull academy teams.
 
A 2012 graduate of Syracuse University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in health and exercise science, Feuerstein received a Master of Science degree from Seton Hall University in athletic training in May of 2014.
 
While at Seton Hall, Feuerstein also served as a graduate student trainer for Bergen Catholic High School in the fall of 2013, working with the football, soccer, basketball and wrestling and track and field programs, and at Columbia University in the summer of 2013, assisting with summer football camp. She also worked as a graduate assistant trainer at Wagner College in the spring of 2013, supporting the basketball, lacrosse, baseball, water polo and swimming squads, and at Caldwell College in the fall of 2012 where she worked with the soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, track and field and tennis programs.
 
Feuerstein is CPR/AED certified for the Professional Rescuer and holds a Board of Certification for Athletic Training. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association.
