Photo GalleryIn a meet featuring some of the top cross country teams in the country, the Fordham cross country team took part in the Iona Meet of Champions, held at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday.

In the men's race, six out of the 23 teams in the competition were regionally ranked heading into the race, which included nationally ranked Iona (#12) and Arkansas (#13).

Arkansas captured the team title with a score of 46 points, followed by Fordham in second place with 67 points, and Brown in third (96 points). The Razorbacks had four runners finish in the top 10, while the Rams had five runners in the top 20.

Individually, Robert Allen of UMass-Lowell won the five-mile race with a time of 25:32.7, followed by a trio of Arkansas runners in Alex George (2
nd – 25:36.6), Stan Kebenei (3
rd – 25:41.6), and Gabe Gonzales (4
th – 25:42.9).

For Fordham,
Jonathan Annelli placed seventh overall in a time of 25:54.0 in his first action of the season, while
Quincy O'Connor was 12
th in 26:08.8.Â
Mike Turi and
Thomas Slattery were the next two across the line in 14
th (26:12.5) and 15
th (26:14.21) place, respectively.Â
Brian Cook was the final Ram runner in the top 20, finishing 19
th in 26:21.02.

In the women's competition, six regionally ranked teams were in this race with the Ivy League taking the top three spots. Brown won the team title with 38 points, followed by Yale with 86 and Princeton with 141. Fordham would take ninth out of the 20-team field with 218 points.

Individually, Albany's Silvia Del Fava paced the field by winning the 6K race in 22:27.6.

For Fordham,
Brianna Tevnan was the top finisher in 21
st place, clocking in at 23:10.0, while
Brynna Harum was 51
st in 24:06.1.Â
Brianne Roche took the next spot in 53
rd (24:07.0), followed by
Mara Lieberman in 55
th (24:14.9), and
Sarah Glockenmeier in 70
th (24:32.6).
