BRONX, N.Y.- With just a few weeks remaining until the start of the 2014 volleyball campaign, the Fordham squad has been honored for its success in the classroom, taking home the AVCA Team Academic Award. 
 
The award honors teams at all levels of competition that maintain at least a 3.3 GPA over the course of year.  In 2013-14, 134 Division I teams earned the accolade.
 
This does not mark the first award that the Rams have received for their efforts in classroom under Head Coach Gini Ullery, as senior Maria Rodenberg earned Academic All-Atlantic 10 honors a season ago.
 
The Rams kick off 2014 in less than four weeks, traveling to the West Coast for the San Francisco Invitational and taking on Georgia in the opener on August 29^th.
