Bronx, N.Y. (August 16, 2014) – The Fordham University football Rams got their first look at renovated Jack Coffey Field tonight as they held their second scrimmage of camp at the facility.

Though not quite finished, the FieldTurf playing surface is down which allowed the Rams to get a feel for the new turf under the lights exactly two weeks before they host Saint Francis University on opening night.

There were lots of positives to take away from all three facets of the games for head coach Joe Moorhead. Here are some highlight:

  • The offense also scored on another long pass to Sam Ajala (25 yards) and a short one to Brian Wetzel (one yard). Ajala caught a 37-yard pass to put the ball on the one and set up Wetzel's score.

Following the scrimmage, Moorhead took his second Ice Bucket Challenge after he was nominated by former Fordham head coach Dave Clawson, the current Wake Forest head coach. Moorhead challenged two former Rams, Cory Bailey, FCRH '98, defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Coastal Carolina and Sean McGowan, FCRH '97, special teams coordinator/SAM linebacker/nickel package coach at Boston College along with Clayton White, safeties/co-special teams coordinator at North Carolina State. Mike Nebrich and Sam Ajala were chosen to pour the water on Coach Moorhead.

The Rams will have the day off on Sunday before returning to practice on Monday.
