Box Score

It's been 18 years since Chris Moran threw seven no-hit innings for Fordham back in 1996, registering the last no-hitter for the Rams.  On Wednesday night, freshman hurler Kirk Haynes, Jr., who was only one-year-old in 1996, took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, as the Rams posted a 5-4 win over the Army Black Knights at Houlihan Park.

With the win, Fordham improves to 13-17, while Army fell to 20-10.

The Rams gave Haynes some quick run support, scoring three times in the second inning to take a 3-0 lead.
LundyArmy
was hit by a pitch and stole second base.  Galiano followed with a double to left center, scoring McCunney and tying the game at four.  After a strikeout, Lundy snuck a single through the right side to score Galiano, who just touched home ahead of the throw from the outfield.

From there, J.C. Porter, who came in to relieve Haynes in the eighth, recorded two strikeouts in the ninth to get the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3 on the year.  He did not allow a hit over the final 1.2 innings, as he and Haynes combined for the one-hitter.  Haynes received a no-decision, allowing just one earned run on one hit over 7.1 innings with a season-high nine strikeouts.

At the plate, Judisky recorded his first multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Galiano was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI-double.

The Fordham baseball team will next be in action on Friday, April 11th, as the Rams open a three-game Atlantic 10 series against Saint Joseph's at Houlihan Park, beginning at 7:00 PM.
