Bronx, N.Y. – (June 2, 2026) – Five Fordham baseball players were among those that received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors this week.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to qualify.
Senior
Tommy McAndrews was honored for the third straight year, while sophomores
Anthony Grabau,
Chase Hanawalt, and
Taylor Kirk, as well as graduate student
Joey Donnelly, garnered the honor for the first time.
Here is a breakdown of each individual:
Tommy McAndrews – Sr. – Catcher
Major: Finance
- Three-time CSC Academic All-District selection (2024-26)
- Three-year member of the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
- Three-year team captain (2024-26)
- 2026 Second Team All-Atlantic 10 & Academic All-Conference selection
- Setting career-highs with a .332 batting average, 44 runs scored, 67 hits, 15 doubles, 15 home runs, and 53 RBI
- Became only the second player in Rams' history to have at least 15 doubles and 15 home runs in the same season (Mike Marchiano – 1997)
- Finished his career second all-time at Fordham in career home runs (31), tied for fifth in doubles (45) and RBI (132), and seventh in total bases (330).

Joey Donnelly – Gr. – First Base/Outfield
Major: Finance
- CSC Academic All-District selection (2026)
- Member of the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll three times and ACC Honor Roll once during his time at Cal
- Led the Rams in 2026 with 18 doubles
- Batted .317 with 44 runs scored, 11 home runs, 47 RBI, and 15 stolen bases
- Was second on the team in batting average, home runs, and RBI
- Atlantic 10 Player of the Week once

Anthony Grabau – Sophomore – Infielder
Major: Finance
- 2026 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection
- CSC Academic All-District selection (2026)
- Member of the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
- Earned a spot on the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List for the top shortstop in the country
- Started all 55 games at shortstop with .303 batting average, 53 runs scored, 12 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 38 RBI, and 11 stolen bases.
- Had a team-best 21 multi-hit games
- Atlantic 10 Player of the Week once

Chase Hanawalt – Sophomore – Pitcher
Major: Finance/Minor: Mathematics
- 2026 Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference selection
- CSC Academic All-District selection (2026)
- Member of the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
- Staple in the Rams' weekend rotation as a starting pitcher, making all 14 weekend starts
- Led the Rams with 81 strikeouts in 80.1 innings of work, while recording three wins and the Rams' lone complete game of the season
- In league action, he had a team-best 3.84 ERA with 63 strikeouts to just 14 walks in 63.1 innings.

Taylor Kirk – Sophomore – Infielder
Major: Business Administration / Minor: Sports Journalism
- CSC Academic All-District selection (2026)
- Member of the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll
- Played in all 55 games at second base, leading the Rams in runs scored (53), hits (71), and stolen bases (30)
- First Ram since Jack MacKenzie (2018 & 2019) to record back-to-back 30 stolen base seasons
- Also added a .317 batting average, 13 doubles, and 30 RBI
