Five Rams Earn All-Atlantic 10 Baseball Honors

Tommy McAndrews Named Second Team All-Atlantic 10; McAndrews, Anthony Grabau, & Chase Hanawalt Named to Academic All-Conference Team, while Declan Cawley and Mason Dean Selected to All-Rookie Team

Washington, D.C. – (May 19, 2026) – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its All-Conference Team and major award winners for the 2026 baseball season on Tuesday.A total of five Fordham Rams were listed, led by senior Tommy McAndrews (Haverhill, Mass.), who was selected Second Team All-Atlantic 10 at catcher, while also earning a spot on the conference's Academic All-Conference Team.
 
McAndrews was joined on the Academic All-Conference Team by sophomore teammates Anthony Grabau (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Chase Hanawalt (West Hartford, Conn.), making this only the third time that Fordham has had three selections in a season.  Additionally, freshmen Declan Cawley (Blue Bell, Pa.) and Mason Dean (Cary, N.C.) were named to the league's All-Rookie Team, marking the eighth time that Fordham has had multiple All-Rookie selections.
 
McAndrews had a career year for the Rams, setting personal bests with a .332 batting average, 44 runs scored, 67 hits, 15 doubles, 15 home runs, and 53 RBI.  He finished as the team leader in average, home runs, and RBI, and became only the second player in Rams' history to have at least 15 doubles and 15 home runs in the same season (Mike Marchiano – 1997).  In conference play, McAndrews was even better with a .396 batting average, 11 home runs, and 29 RBI.  For his career, he finished second all-time at Fordham in career home runs (31), tied for fifth in doubles (45) and RBI (132), and seventh in total bases (330). In the classroom, McAndrews graduated with a degree in Finance, earned CSC Academic All-District honors twice, and was a three-year member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
 
Grabau, a Finance major and a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, bettered his numbers across the board in his sophomore season.  He started all 55 games at shortstop, earning a spot on the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List for the top shortstop in the country.  He was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week once during the season and ended the year setting career-highs with a .303 batting average, 53 runs scored, 12 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 38 RBI, and 11 stolen bases.  Grabau also had a team-best 21 multi-hit games.
 
A Finance major with a minor in Mathematics and a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll, Hanawalt was a staple in the Rams' weekend rotation as a starting pitcher, making all 14 weekend starts.  He led the Rams with 81 strikeouts in 80.1 innings of work, while recording three wins and the Rams' lone complete game of the season.In league action, Hanawalt had a team-best 3.84 ERA with 63 strikeouts to just 14 walks in 63.1 innings.
 
Cawley proved to be one of the Rams' most reliable bullpen arms in his first year with the team.  He made 21 appearances, recording a 4.91 ERA, two wins, and five saves on the year.  He also ended the season with 55 strikeouts in 51.1 innings.In conference play, he held opponents to a .233 batting average to go with 41 strikeouts.
 
Dean had an excellent first season at Fordham, earning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors once during the year.  He batted .292 with 30 runs scored, 11 doubles, five home runs, 29 RBI, and 17 stolen bases.  He also recorded 13 multi-hit games.In Atlantic 10 action, Dean hit .361 with a .458 on-base percentage to go with eight doubles, two home runs, and 14 RBI.
