Men’s Tennis Blanks La Salle, 5-0

Rams pick up third win of spring

Philadelphia, Pa. (April 2, 2014) – The Fordham University men's tennis team traveled down to Philadelphia and played one of its best matches of the spring season, blanking La Salle University, 5-0, on the Belfield Courts.  
 
Fordham opened the match taking the doubles point, winning both completed doubles matches. Mischa Koran and Matty Najfeld defeated Brian Balico and Chas Berenato at first doubles, 8-1, and J.J. Tauil and Max Peara upended Thomas MacLeod and Mark Robinson at the third spot, 8-2.
 
The Rams then won four of the six completed singles matches, all in straight sets, for the win. Najfeld defeated Berenato, 6-0, 6-3, at second singles, Kuba Kowalski bested Joseph LaBate, 6-1, 6-2, at the third position, Tauil took care of Dale Fetterman, 6-0, 6-4, at fourth singles and Michael Puntillo was victorious over Robert Kasinow, 6-2, 6-2, at the fifth spot.
 
The Rams return to action on Friday, April 4, as they travel to Washington, D.C., to face the George Washington University Colonials at 10:00 a.m. and then George Mason University at 4:00 p.m.
