Stony Brook's Kevin Courtney connected on the game-winning double in the bottom of the 14
th inning to give the Seawolves the series sweep of the Fordham Rams, 10-9, at Joe Nathan Field.

With the loss, Fordham falls to 3-6 on the year, while Stony Brook improved to 3-6.

Fordham opened the wild affair with a run in the first inning, as
Ryan McNally plated
Joseph Runco from third with an infield single.

Stony Brook knotted the game at one in the bottom of the frame, and then grabbed a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth.

Fordham tied the game at three in the top of the fifth, when
Tim Swatek doubled down the left field line, scoring
Jason Lundy and
Matthew Cianci.

After Stony Brook regained the lead at 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Fordham tied the game again in the seventh. Cianci singled to start the inning and moved to second on a wild pitch. After a walk to Swatek, Cianci and Swatek pulled off a double steal to put two runners in scoring position. Cianci then scored on an error.

The Rams then grabbed their first lead of the game in the eighth, as
Rob McCunney was hit by a pitch, sacrificed to second, and scored on a single by Lundy. Stony Brook replied with a single run in the bottom half of the eighth, tying the score at five and forcing extra innings.

In the tenth, Fordham took a 6-5 lead, when McCunney connected for a one-out double and scored on a single up the middle by
Matthew Kozuch. The Seawolves quickly knotted the score in the bottom of the inning, as they loaded the bases and scored a run on a wild pitch. Stony Brook then tried to win the game on a fly ball, but
Ryan McNally threw out Kevin Krause at the plate for an inning ending double play.

Later in the 12
th inning, Fordham rallied for three runs on an RBI-triple from McCunney, an RBI-single by Lundy, and a wild pitch to lead, 9-6. The Seawolves would not go away, scoring three runs of their own on a two-run single by Robert Chavarria and a wild pitch to once again tie the game at nine.

Stony Brook then won the game in the 14
th, as Cole Peragine led off with a single to center, and later scored on a double by Kevin Courtney to win the game 10-9.

For Fordham,
Cody Johnson (1-1) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in two innings of relief. Swatek made the start, as he went seven innings, giving up three earned runs on nine hits with three strikeouts.Â
Greg Weissert pitched the other four innings, giving up four runs on four hits with six walks and three strikeouts.

At the plate, McCunney was 2-for-6 with a double, a triple, three runs scored, and an RBI, while Lundy was 3-for-6 with two RBI and two stolen bases. McNally finished 2-for-6 with an RBI with Swatek going 2-for-4 with three walks and two RBI.

The Rams are back in action on Tuesday, March 11
th, when the Rams will now host the NYIT Bears at Houlihan Park for a 2:00 PM doubleheader, consisting of two seven-inning contests. This is a schedule change.
