Schnectady, N.Y. (March 8, 2014) – The Fordham University women's tennis squad traveled to Schnectady to face the University of Albany at Sporttime and defeated the Great Danes, 4-3.
 
The Rams opened the match by taking the doubles point as Elliessa Ball and Sarah Ali defeated Cheryl Kukkonen and Alba Sala at first doubles, 8-7 (8-5), and Bella Genkina and Anika Novacek won by default at third doubles.
 
Fordham then won the match with three singles wins as Ball defeated Kukkonen in straight sets at first singles, 6-4 and 6-3, and Ali upended Hermans at second singles, dropping the first set, 6-4, before coming back to take the second, 6-3, and the third, 6-2.
 
The other singles win was by Destiny Grunin at the sixth position by forfeit.
 
The Rams return to action on Tuesday, March 11, as they host Saint Louis University at Stadium Tennis in the Bronx at 11:00 a.m.
