BRONX, N.Y.- Despite having half of her team's games wiped out by weather, freshman Sydney Canessa has taken home Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors.
 
The award is the first weekly honor for Canessa's collegiate career.
 
The Wall, N.J., native put forth an outstanding performance in her team's doubleheader sweep of Marist on Thursday, going 5-6 at the dish.  In those five hits, Canessa launched a home run and a ground rule double, recording four RBI on the day.
 
Canessa also registered a walk against the Red Foxes.
