MANALAPAN, N.J. (March 30, 2014) – The rains didn't prevent the Fordham women's tennis squad from competing today as the Rams traveled over to New Jersey where they fell to Rutgers, 5-2, at the Atlantic Club.
 
The match was played under the alternate simultaneous format, where the teams played one doubles match worth two points, and five singles matches worth one point each.
 
In the doubles match, Elliesa Ball and Sarah Ali teamed up to win over Rutgers' Lindsay Balsamo and Mariam Zein, taking the first set, 6-3, dropping the second, 6-4, but then winning the tiebreaker, 13-11.
 
In singles play, the Rams lost all five matches in straight sets.
